Accessibility statement

Public administration websites are subject to the EU Accessibility Directive, which aims to ensure equality for people in the digital society and uniform accessibility requirements.

Websites must comply with the AA level of the WCAG 2.0 criteria. In Finland, the accessibility supervisory authority is: Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom / Digital Accessibility and Accessibility Monitoring Unit:  accessibility requirements.fi

The accessibility statement of the municipality of Ii was prepared on 23 September 2019. The statement applies to the website of the municipality of Ii: ii.fi and visitii.fi.

The municipality's website largely complies with levels A and AA of the requirements set out in the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1.

Compliance

The website of the municipality of Ii largely complies with levels A and AA of the requirements set out in the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1. The structure of the website takes into account, among other things:

  • In addition to menu structures, the navigation includes a search function, a site map and a breadcrumb trail. The homepage has a link to the main content, bypassing the navigation. The site can also be used with just the keyboard.
  • The page layout is easy to understand and consistent. The typography and color contrast are sufficient.
  • The structure of the site, including its headings, is clear for screen readers.
  • The site adapts to different screen sizes (responsiveness)
  • Alternative captions have been provided for the images.

Inaccessible content
There are approximately 440 attachments (pdf) published on the website, a significant portion of which were published before 23 September 2018, when they were not covered by the applicable legislation. The aim is to make the most important attachments necessary for handling matters accessible.
