Ii employment services

Customer service situation.
Employment services are part of every municipality's basic services, in the same way as services related to education or community development, for example.

Personal coaches support job search and advise on issues related to unemployment.

Employment services provide both personal and corporate customers with advice and guidance on job search, employee recruitment and competence development locally from Iis.

We cooperate with various municipal departments, Kela, the Northern Ostrobothnia Welfare Region, companies, associations, organizations and educational institutions.

New job seeker?

If you become unemployed or are laid off, register as a job seeker as soon as possible in the Job Market Marketplace's Oma asiointi online service. Registration is a prerequisite for applying for unemployment benefits.

On the job market you will also find open jobs, tips for job searching and instructions for doing business. Logging in requires strong identification (e.g. online banking credentials).

Corporate Events

Ii's employment services also support employers in employment and developing personnel skills. In order to provide the best service, we are happy to get to know your company and industry.

We also organize company visits for job seekers if you want to introduce your company to potential new employees.

Through us, employers can, for example:

  • announce a job vacancy and publish the advertisement on the Työmarkkinatori website
  • search for employees through a silent search, where personal coaches introduce suitable candidates to the employer for an open position
  • announce a work trial opportunity
  • announce an apprenticeship opportunity
  • receive instructions and advice on matters related to wage subsidy
  • advice and guidance
  • services for starting entrepreneurs
  • starting money
  • company service needs assessment and employer visits
  • organizing a recruitment event

You can advertise a job vacancy using the online form: ii.fi/ilmoita-tyopaikka

Change security issue

Change protection applies to situations where a company has to reduce its personnel. The Co-operation Act requires that an employer with at least 20 employees notify the employment authority of the employer's domicile of the start of change negotiations.
In Iis, services related to change security are handled through the Oulu region. Companies can send notifications and questions by email to:

Youth employment support covers half of salary costs

Youth employment support has been introduced in the Oulu region employment area on 18 February 2026. The aim of the support is to facilitate young people's access to the labour market and to temporarily reduce the employer's recruitment costs.

Companies, organizations, associations, the public sector and third sector actors can apply for support. The condition for receiving support is that the applicant for support engages in economic activity.

Support can also be granted to an employer who employs only a young person who has completed a comprehensive school curriculum. For them, the requirement is at least three months of unemployment before concluding an employment contract.

The condition for receiving employment support is that the young person's employment relationship is concluded for at least six months, in which case the support is 50% of salary costs and a maximum of 1500 euros per month. The support does not include ancillary expenses, vacation pay, performance bonuses, employee benefits, and overtime compensation.
