Open early childhood education

Open early childhood education is intended for children aged 2-5 who are in home care. Participation in the activity does not interrupt home care support and there is no fee for the activity. The child may not participate in municipal or private early childhood education at the same time.

Open early childhood education activities are guided by an early childhood education teacher and an early childhood education nanny.  

Open early childhood education clubs are organized at Nikkari Daycare Center. Activities are organized as children's group activities, each group operates twice a week for approximately 3 hours each time. 

Club applications for the 2026-2027 season!

Apply for your child to join the open early childhood education club activities for the 2026-2027 season no later than By March 8, 2026!

Fill out the application in the eDaisy service (eDaisy).

If your child has already applied for open early childhood education, you do not need to apply again. You can cancel an application if it is no longer relevant.

The club schedules for the 2026-2027 operating season follow the working and holiday hours of schools:

Fall semester 12.8.-22.12.2026
Spring semester 7.1.-5.6.2027

The vacation periods are as follows:

Autumn break 19.10.-23.10.2026 (week 43)
Christmas break 23.12.2026 - 6.1.2027
Winter break 8.3.-12.3.2027 (week 10)
Easter 26.3.-29.3.2027
Ascension Thursday and the following Friday, May 6-7, 2027

The clubs will be held between 12.8.26 and 5.6.27 at Nikkari Daycare Center on weekdays, the club is closed during school holidays. The groups will be announced later in the spring. Places will be filled in the order according to the selection criteria decided by the Education Committee. A child can only participate in one group at a time.
