Sports destinations on the map

Iin municipality uses luontoon.fi map service for presenting sports, outdoor activities and camping sites, as well as lipas.fi/liikuntapaikat (Places maintained by the municipality of Ii) website.

You can access the presentations of the destinations by clicking on the icon symbolizing the topic on the map. You can also select different filters to see which destinations you want to see on the map. 

All sports and leisure facilities maintained by the municipality are also listed. in the address list (Pdf).

Indoor sports hall Iisi Arena

You can play volleyball, basketball, badminton (3 courts), futsal or table tennis at the Iisi Arena. In addition, the hall has a boxing room, a budo and martial arts room, a small gym, a senior fitness area with compressed air equipment, a climbing wall, a running track and a baseball batting cage for juniors. The Löhölä youth facility is located on the upper floor of the Iisi Arena.

To make a reservation, you must first create a username in the system under "Register". 

Vihkosaari beach and swimming pool

A shallow and sunny sandy beach on Illinsaari (Illinsaarentie 18), which is the most popular swimming spot in Ii. The site has a year-round pier, four rope-separated swimming lanes (25 m long), changing rooms, a campfire and cookie area, a beach volleyball court, children's seesaws, a climbing frame and a bio-toilet. 

The winter swimming area at Vihkosaari swimming pool has opened on October 1, 2025.

Maintenance of outdoor sports facilities

We ask that all feedback, development and bug reports related to the services be submitted primarily via the form: https://ii.fi/palaute

The lighting of the ski trails will be turned off at 22 pm and the skating areas at 21 pm. When the temperature is above 20 degrees Celsius, the lights do not turn on at all on the ice areas/rinks, and the ice areas are not frozen when the temperature is above 17 degrees Celsius.

When is the ski trail snowed or the skating rink frozen?
Check the situation on the map system: ii.fi/talkunton
If the objects are not visible on the map, make sure that the Ice Sports Fields and Tracks items are selected in the "Data" and "Show on map" menus.

Application for grants for Ii communities

The Community Board has decided at its meeting on 25.11.2025 November 141 to provide assistance to registered associations, clubs and other public benefit actors operating in the municipality of Ii, whose activities are mainly aimed at the residents of Ii. The board also approved the terms and principles for granting the assistance, aid principles.

The grant awarded is based on partnership agreements with Infrastructure and Environmental Services.

Grants support activities that:
• promote the strategic goals of the municipality of Ii
• improve the well-being and inclusion of local residents
• supports an ecologically, socially and economically sustainable environment
• complements the municipality's own services provided by Infrastructure and Environmental Services
• maintain or develop areas managed by the Municipality of Ii's Infrastructure and Environmental Services (e.g. parks, trails, lean-tos, outdoor sports areas)
