Water supply

The water distributed by the Ii waterworks is entirely groundwater. The outgoing network water meets the health quality requirements set out in the decision of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health.

Approximately 460,000 m3 of water is distributed to consumers per year and water consumption per inhabitant is approximately 130 liters per day. There are approximately 4500 water connections and approximately 9535 consumers in the area. There are 11 water intake points.

Reporting the water meter reading

Sign in to the Service From the Consumption Web link. The service allows you to enter water consumption readings, browse your property's water consumption history, and provide feedback or send questions.

The ID is the consumption point number (from the water bill or reading request). The password is the meter number, which can be found on the notification card and water bill (the meter number on the water meter may not be used).

When saving the meter reading, you may receive an error message. If the message deviates significantly from your annual consumption estimate, we recommend contacting the water billing department to check the consumption estimate, office secretary Miia Räihä, tel. 050 3753 930.

Summer water outlets are closed on October 7, 2025
Only those persons who have redeemed a key for the water post can obtain the amount of water they need from the water post. The key is personal and it is strictly prohibited to hand it over to a third party. According to the price list that came into effect on 1 January 2025, the usage fee is €33,57/year incl. VAT 25,5% for summer water post and €67,16/year incl. VAT 25,5% for year-round water post, and it is invoiced annually to the persons who redeemed the key. For invoicing, we need the name, billing address and personal identification number of the person redeeming the key. The water post key can be redeemed at the Ii municipality service point (Piisiltä 1, Micropolis main building, 2nd floor, tel. 050 3103 458, open Mon-Fri 9.-11.30 and 12-15). The locks on the water hydrants were replaced in spring 2024, so the old key must be exchanged for a new one at the Ii municipality service point. The key must be returned if it is no longer needed.
